Start believing

Just the other day I went to Spur for breakfast. It’s a real treat for me and while I was waiting for my meal to arrive I have notice the sugar sachets on the table.

So I decided to take one and at the back of the sachet is an interesting quote printed on them from famous poets at the back. I have read each one, but this one stood out for me the most.

Good Morning!

Today I want to share my personal story with you. Some of you might know that I was in the Teaching profession.

I remember when I was a little girl I wanted to be a teacher like my Sub A & B teacher. Okay, i'm partly giving my age away, since we are using Grades these days. She was a teacher that have inspired me to become one. One of the few teachers that have really inspired me to become one myself. I know that many children say that a young age. That they want to be a teacher, doctor or even a firefighter etc.

My thoughts while growing up have changed during my schooling years. I recall that at some point I wanted to work in the computer related field, but later on I thought to myself why one earth do I want to work day in and out on a computer!? It would be boring. Yeah, right little did I know that I'm more on the computer these days.

When you meet someone for the very first time you will first note their face and secondly you will shake their hands and then you will notice how their hands look and feel.

When I look at my Mother’s hands they have done so many things for me over the years. She was the one that would hold my hands when I needed encouragement, or lead me over the road, combing my hair for school, giving me medicine when I was ill or rubbing my back. Preparing my lunchbox for school, washing and ironing my clothes etc.

When I take a look at my dad’s hands it reminds me of the wonderful toasted cheese sarmies he have made. I simply can’t make that prefect toasted cheese sarmie at all. I have eaten many braai’s, but there aren’t many that know how to make a great braai like my Dad. He’s hands was also the one that taught me how to tie my shoelaces and how to make knot a tie.

Our hands have done all these things and much more so we need to take proper care of them, since our hands show the first sign of aging. Using a hand cream is the best way to repair and restore damaged hands, ensuring that they not only look younger but feel softer too.

It's a real Winters day today in Cape Town. It's cold and wet outside and the sky are covered with clouds that are bringing rain to us that - we are needing those precious drops! Hardly any rays of sun to see with the naked eye. I can feel the chills of the air on my skin. In this moment I wanted something that could warm me up from the inside.

It's a long weekend and with such lovely weather in Cape Town why not enjoy a delicious treat at Pannarotti's in Kenilworth Center.

I don't know about you, but I always enjoy looking at the menu and with those delectable images makes those treats just so damn hard to resist!

Choc Mud Slide → R49.90

Soft, gooey and dreamy chocolate dessert smothered with a decadent chocolate sauce. Served with cream or ice cream.

On the back of my mind I always wanted to try out the Choc Mud Slide. I urge you to take a peak at this link here (it will take you to the image I'm talking about) then you would know what I'm talking about! So what you you think? I was so impressed with what I have seen on the menu, but sadly when I have placed my order the waiter have told me that they only have Strawberry or Chocolate ice cream. So I thought I don't like Chocolate ice cream at all so I have opted for the Strawberry ice cream.

To be honest with you Vanilla ice cream are the preferred flavour with any dessert, since it would balance the sweetness of the Choc Mud Slide that I have ordered. Panarotti's should have had extra Vanilla ice cream, since it's the long weekend and it was warm weather that we are having here currently just with the odd cold days in between. Maybe I should have opted for the cream instead of the Strawberry ice cream. Was actually a bummer for me.

PRESENTATION:

I feel that they should have a smaller plate to serve the dessert on. The dessert looks lost on the big plate. I also would have preferred that it should have been soft serve ice-cream instead than just a regular strawberry ice cream. When you have just regular ice cream make sure that you scoops are a a neatly rounded scooped ball.

TASTE:

The Choc Mud slide are soft, gooey and sweet. However with the Strawberry ice cream makes it just so much sweeter hence why Vanilla would balance the dessert to well.

VALUE:

I find it not worth the money spend. I would suggest that the price should be less or the portion of the cake should be bigger. If i haven't known better I would have thought that it's a halve portion that I have been served.

Strawberry Milkshake - Double Thick Malt → R37.90

Guys you really can't get any thicker than this! I had to wait a while before I could even get a sip to drink!! It's a prefect drink to enjoy on a Hot Summer day.

PRESENTATION:

I liked the pink ombre of my Milkshake. I have received a straw ans spoon. Lastly I was super grateful for the spoon so that I could stir my "ice cream" so that It would mix with the syrup and that I could enjoy my milkshake sooner.

TASTE:

This time I could really taste the flavour of my Milkshake. The other time I have ordered the Banana milkshake and I could hardly have tasted it. You welcome to read my previous here

VALUE:

Great value for money and it would cure your thirst on a sunny day.

SERVICE:

As can expected it was a long weekend it took a while for my desserts to arrive, but I can tell you that everything was fresh.

ATMOSPHERE:

If you want to have a relaxing atmosphere don't go when you know that kids would be there, since kids are running around and screaming. The previous times that I was there it was a wonderful still relaxing mornings.
