Eau Thermale Avéne Anti-Aging Suncare SPF 50+ (Review)

Good Morning Beauties,

I would like to ask you a few question this morning about skincare products:
  • Which skin care product are a must in our daily lives?
  • Which is the best Anti-Aging skin care product?
  • Which product helps in the prevention of fine lines, wrinkles, brown spots and sun burns?
  • Which is a single skincare product, which is common for people of all ages and both sexes?
  • Which skincare product are not applied judiciously and often neglected ?

Header Avene anti-aging suncare

The answer to all these questions are a sunscreen product!

Let's be honest here we tend to only apply a suncare product when we know that we are going to spend a lot of time in the sun like going to the beach or taking part in sport activities etc, but we are exposed to the sun's rays all year! It may be direct sunlight or indirect, but we are still exposed to the harmful rays. We can all have a beautiful skin by using a suncare product.

Avene anti-aging suncare spf 50+ | product with packaging

BRAND: Avene | VOLUME: 50 ml | AVAILABILITY: Clicks & Dis-Chem |
PRICE: Clicks: R229,95 / Dis-Chem R 199,00

The very high protection SPF 50+ cream is formulated specially for hypersensitive skin, light or very fair skin, skin prone to skin burns and skin exposed to intense sunlight.

These days sun protection are a must, since the Ozone layer of our atmosphere is getting corroded. We are more than ever at an increased risk of exposure to the harmful UV-A (long waves) and the UV-B (short wave) rays of the sun.

While short length UV-B rays penetrate only in the upper layer of the skin and mainly cause sunburn, it has more energy and can therefore do more damage to the skin, including skin cancer.

The long length UV-A rays penetrate deeper, but has lesser energy and are involved with tanning, photo aging and also contribute to skin cancer. SPF is "sun protection factor"

In simple terms, if a person develops sunburn within 5 minutes in the absence of sunscreen, with a sunscreen having a SPF of 15, it will take him 15×5= 75 minutes to develop the same amount of sun burn. So, does that mean; that with higher and higher SPF, we will have 100% protection from the sun? Unfortunately, this is not the case.

Researches have shown that SPF of 15 will block 94% UVB rays, SPF 30 will block 97% UVB rays, and SPF of 50 will block around 98% UVB rays. After this, the curve actually plateaus, and higher SPFs will block only slightly more UVB rays; but no sunscreen can block 100% of the rays.
Compared to a few years back, now, there are so many sunscreen products available in the market. Earlier, sunscreens used to be thick, oily sticky, greasy, and leave an ashy cast on the skin; which was the main reason why people avoided them.

But now, there are many brands coming up with sunscreen lotions, creams, emulsions, gels, sprays, which are suitable for all skin types, and are cosmetically acceptable. Also, sun block creams (remember, cricketers putting white cream on their face, well that is sunblock), after sun gels, de-tanning gels and masks, and lotions for sun intolerant skin types too have totally flooded the market.

DETAILED INFORMATION:

Description:
Avene Anti-Oxidant For Dry Sensitive Skin Cream 50ml

Detailed Description:Sunscreens. For sensitive skin. For intolerant skin.

Avene dermatological laboratories. Thermal spring water for sensitive skin.
Avene: Avene-les-bains: The hydrotherapy center dedicated to the skin: The Avene thermal spring rises in Southern France, at the foot of the Cevennes Mountains, in the Orb Valley. The water wells up, clear and pure, from the depth of the mountains, where it has been trickling for over 40 years. The thermal spring water has been used for centuries.

In 1874, the French government officially declared the hydrotherapy center to be of "public interest". Today, the hydrotherapy center treats many patients with dermatological disorders where they benefit from the known properties of Avene thermal spring water. The hydrotherapy center also offers the sensicure, a customized daily relaxing experience.

Avene thermal spring water: Soothing and anti-irritating: Avene thermal spring water emerges from the ground at a constant temperature of 21.3 degrees C. It is clear, bacteriologically pure, with a pH close to neutral. It has a low mineral content and incorporates essential trace elements and silica, leaving a thin softening and protecting film on the skin. The soothing and anti-irritating properties of Avene thermal spring water have been demonstrated by numerous scientific studies with the following results: A decreased reaction in skin cells implicated in skin hypersensitivity. An improvement in the quality of the skin surface. These unique and exceptional properties make it the ideal treatment for sensitive, irritated or damaged skin, which it soothes, comforts and softens.

For optimal safety, the Avene thermal spring water is constantly controlled by the Water Research Center, strategically located between the spring and the production plant. Aside from this role, it also works with experts in water and the Pierre Fabre Research group to continue research on the unique genesis and properties of this water. It also provides training and publishes scientific data. Sensitive skin: A field of exerts: Sensitive skin tends to overreact to external factors (sun, cold, heat, pollution, ill-adapted products) or internal (stress, food, alcohol). In order to soothe and protect sensitive skin, Avene dermatological laboratories have formulated a line of dermo-cosmetic products following a stringent quality charter, based on Avene thermal spring water. Among these products is a complexion correction line tolled couvrance.

 MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE:

I burn very quickly when I'm exposed to the sun, since I'm light skinned. So I have to make sure that I'm protected from the damaging effects from the sun.

I liked this sunscreen for plenty of reasons. The first time that I've used this sunscreen it looked white, but it absorbs quickly and I had no sticky feeling afterwards.

I was completely protected (remember to reapply) during the day. I didn't burn at all and The suncare are also water resistant so when I do feel very hot during the day I could spray myself with  Avéne Thermale Spring Water. Earlier this year I have written a post about that here

Furthermore Avéne suncare are a must have product, during this very hot season that we are facing in Cape Town. Please take care of your skin beauties -it's the largest organ that we have and prevention are better than cure!

Remember your sunglasses!
