Brekkie at Wimpy

Good Morning,

On Thursday morning  we have decided to take a small trip to Muizenberg this time as our monthly little treat, but unfortunately there wasn't a single parking space! We couldn't believe our eyes, I mean it's not the holidays or even the weekend, but we were so hungry at that time that we have decided to turn home, but first we make a stop at Kiesenbosch Wimpy.

To those that do not know of Kiesenbosch Wimpy it's located inside Ottery Center. You actually have to go into Pick n Pay and at the back of the store you will spot Wimpy. 

It's was such a hot sunny day in Cape Town and we really wanted to enjoy something cold.
So the natural choice would be a Milkshake. 

 Milkshake (Regular) → R 31.90 

You have the option to choice from Vanilla, Lime, Strawberry, Chocolate, Banana or Bubblegum.

Strawberry Milkshake

My parents have decided with the popular flavour Strawberry.  I thought to myself they always go with the predictable option, but if you know us or me then you would no that none of us would choice the same flavour. Reason? So that we can take a sip from each other. 😋

Once I took a little sip from my parents milkshake it bought so many memories back from my childhood from my Granny and older sis. I didnt even went to school yet, but you know that little kids like to scratch in their sisters lunch boxes and what have I discovered? An empty milkshake sachet. Then all what I had to do was go to granny and she would give some money to my sis to buy one from the school tuckshop the following day!

That sip was so delicious!

Lime Milkshake

 I have decided on the Lime flavour instead, since I wanted something that would sooth my thirst that I had with the HOT weather.  Aww man, it was so divine. I can sit all day just sipping on this.
It's totally heaven for me. 

I was really impressed that they have also provided a spoon with the milkshake so that we can enjoy eating the little Astros and marshmallows. Yummy.

Bacon Sausage Breakfast → R44.90 

My parents have decided to order the Bacon Sausage Breakfast that they have adververtised on the table at we were seated. You can view a short clip that Wimpy have made on their webpage here

This breakfast will consist of 2 eggs, 3 skewered mini bacon sausages, toast and a full portion of chips.  

My parents did enjoy the breakfast, the toast wasn't too hard at all, the chips was delicious. Nice and fluffy on the inside, just that the sausages was burnt that's was a bit of a let down, especially with my Mom.

Classic Chicken Burger → R59.90 

I wasn't in the mood for a breakfast meal and my stomach was really grumpling at this time so I went the Burger route. I was  really looking forward to my plate of food to arrive. When I have chips with a meal I just have to jazz it up with Tomato sauce.

I have ask the waiter to leave out the lettice, since  my digestive system can't digest lettuce at all.
I have decided with the plain and creamy mayo option.

Geez man, my mouth was watering when my plate of food was place in front of me. The chips was soft and tender and so fluffy on the inside with the tomato sauce - yum yum!

I've picked up my Chicken Burger and took my first bite - I could almost hear the angels singing! It's very rare that I can honestly tell you that I enjoy a piece of chicken that are soft on the inside.
I just have to give my compliments to the chef for making such a delicious tender piece of chicken. Wimpy you definitely have a excellent Chef regarding preparing chicken.

We was being served immediately at a table, since it was a very relaxed morning at the Wimpy and the menu was presented to us. Once we have placed our order the drinks hadn't taken long to arrive. 

The food have taken longer to arrive, but that could be expected to some extend. 

Atmosphere: 3 

It was relaxed and those that enjoy sports could watched it on the screen, but neither of us enjoy Cricket that much, but we have compare notes of what was delicious and stories of earlier days. 

Food: 2 

There are still room for improvement regarding grilling the bacon sausages. 

Would I recommend Wimpy to my friends and family? Yes. Even if you just go for the drinks a lone s worth it and just imagine the conversation that you can enjoy with a Milkshake!
